Children's Centre Foundation Thunder Bay is a non-profit charitable organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who provides leadership and direction to the Foundation. The Board is composed of diverse community members who bring a range of skills and knowledge to governing the Foundation.
Our current Board of Directors consists of the following volunteers:
Retired Regional Manager, Drivers and Vehicles, Ontario Ministry of Transportation
Mike was elected to the board in 2014 but has been involved in a number of capacities with the Children’s Centre and the Foundation prior to then. Mike was appointed Chair of the Board in 2016 and currently chairs the Board Development Committee.
President, Blake Funeral Chapel
Joe sits as the Vice-President of the Children’s Centre Foundation Thunder Bay Board; joining in 2008. Joe is a lifelong resident of Thunder Bay and is active in the community. He is the Ontario State Deputy for the Knights of Columbus and an engaged member of St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
Joe spends his free time at camp, golfing, curling, attending football games and enjoying time with his wife and four grown children.
David has been a Foundation Board member since 2009, and acted as Board Chair until 2016. He was also on the Board of Thunder Bay Children’s Centre from 1998-2004.
David has always been a strong advocate for children’s mental health, and has been involved in many of the fundraising, education and advocacy initiatives of the Foundation.

Shannon was born and raised in Nipigon, spent a few years in Toronto, and returned back to Thunder Bay 10 years ago. Having spent the majority of her life in Northwestern Ontario, Shannon is passionate about Thunder Bay and the people who choose to live here. She is looking forward to bringing her knowledge, compassion and commitment to the Board of Directors for Children’s Centre Foundation Thunder Bay.
